The Fabulous Fashion Teas Aftermath
So after 3 months of planning, making and sewing, the weekend was over in a flash! I can't quite believe it, all of a sudden I was chatting to guests before the show and suddenly I’m packing everything up into the backseat of my car and ready for my bed!
The weekend was so fabulous. The Saturday shows included Harper Boutique and the Walk in Wardrobe. Guests from the hotel and afternoon tea lovers shopped and browsed the Boutiques and I met some lovely new clients and was able to follow the live social media updates from the shows from The Merchants social media blogger Lauren Penman.
What I love about the Fabulous Fashion Teas is that there is a really relaxed yet very glam atmosphere about the shows. Guests arrive dolled to the nines and it gives me a chance to introduce myself to new potential clients, network, and introduce people to my brand and show them what I'm about.
The Bellamianta girls where also there in full force in the Pop Up Boutiques. Armed with their fabulously designed tanning mitt they gave shoppers that sun kissed glow while they browsed and even had one of their new tanning products in everyones goody bag! It smells delish and a must try product.
The Sunday was then time for myself and APD Jewellery to rock our creations. The David Yurman at Lunn’s show went on beforehand, and some of the jewellery was so beautiful and delicate as the models presented the designs to each of the tables while the guests sipped on champagne and ate the little afternoon tea fancies. Next was our show. Eeek!
I was a nervous wreck but very very excited as its such a great feeling seeing everything you've worked hard towards run smoothly at showtime.
Backstage running order at the ready and before we knew it the models where walking the finale and everyone was clapping and it was all over! Myself and my backstage helpers quickly snapped everything up and brought it back to the Pop Up Boutique and the afternoon tea guests came in to try on and browse the collection. It was so great as this time around some guests where familiar with my work and recognised my name and that gave me great confidence that I must be doing something right!
So now I have some more appointments in my diary for bespoke pieces and was lucky enough to sell pieces from the collection to some very trendy ladies, one of which was Susie Lunn of Lunn’s Jewellers and one Tracy Hall, owner of Style Academy Modelling Agency.
I’m a one woman show and lets just say I was absolutely exhausted when I landed back home. Thats not to say I couldn't muster the strength to go out for a drink with the girls at the end of the night though ;)
So for all of you who couldn't manage to make it this weekend, I will be updating the stockists this week or next with new stock and finally giving them the replenishment they need! Just to refresh you all they include: Studio Souk, Una Rodden Couture and Grainne Maher;VAULT all in Belfast city centre.
Happy shopping! C x
